Personal Profile OPTOMETRIST Meet Roshni, the resident Optometrist at Notting Hill Gate Opticians. She has been our Optometrist for 4-5 years now, thus has developed a great relationship with many of our local residents. Roshni gained her BSc in Optometry from Aston University and qualified in 2012, giving her over 10 years of experience in the field. She has worked for both multiple and independent Opticians in the past. She prides herself in tailoring her eye examinations to the individual patient and booking longer appointment slots to allow her to give a much more thorough examination where she can address all their concerns. Every person has their own individual visual requirements, and we will always tailor our eye examinations to you and your needs. We allow 30-45minutes per eye test, so you never feel rushed and can take time to make sure you fully understand the outcome of your sight test. YOUR EYE HEALTH IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE TO US. GLASSES COME SECOND. We will thoroughly check the health of your eyes and our optometrists are fully trained to detect both ocular and systemic conditions including dry eye, blepharitis, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension. Having too many options can get confusing, so we will explain to you what each option offers in terms of both cosmetic and optical quality, and based on what you will be wearing your glasses for, for example driving, reading, or VDU use.

EYE EXAMS FOR CHILDREN We offer free NHS eye examinations for children up to the age of 16, and until 18 if in full time education. It cannot be said enough how important it is to get your children's eyes tested, even if you have no concerns about their vision. Children can develop a prescription at a very young age and, as they have never experienced 'normal' vision, they think they are seeing as they should be and won't complain of any vision problems. Furthermore, even if they have good vision for their age, it is important to look inside their eyes and check they are healthy. Remember, it's not just adults who develop health problems, and some of these conditions can be detected in their eyes, for example type 1 Diabetes or juvenile Arthritis. For children we usually recommend an annual eye test, or more frequent if your child's prescription is changing more often than we'd expect.

There are many different options in the contact lens market and we work with leading brands including Johnson&Johnson, Alcon and Coopervision to make sure you are getting the best comfort, eye healthy and vision with your contact lenses. AFTERCARE Contact Lens Fitting and Aftercare We will teach you how to insert and remove the lenses safely, and the proper care regime to follow with them. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to learn the technique of insertion and removal, we have made it a personal challenge to be able to teach every single person how to how to use them!
